Androgyny Lives

Androgyny has always been something of a contentious issue when brought up in conversation. People in the past have been very opinionated about gender and what a man is and what a woman is. I remember I was the odd one out when growing up because I waxed my legs. Gradually over the past ten years people have been more accepting of the individuals own identity. I think this took a leap forward during the whole “metro-sexual” thing.

Over the time we have seen a gradual move towards allowing people to just be themselves. There is still certain expectations by people on what makes a man and woman but the reigns have been loosened a little. Now it’s apparently trendy for school students to be hairless and guys are allowed to have traditionally feminine traits. I see all of this as a move towards allowing people to just be themselves, no matter what that means.
